I have to go out of town for Thanksgiving (family needs emotional support) so I'm going to have to put Squeaky and Butterscotch in separate cages. I don't know how Squeaky will react to chicks and since I'm going to gone for four days I just can't risk it. I don't think there's any way for the chicks to wait until I get back to hatch. If I put Squeaky's cage right beside Butterscotch's cage do you think that Squeaky will still get stressed out? I have to leave this evening.

Ok I think that I've solved that problem. My grandma will be taking care of the animals inside the house since she already lives here. If she sees or hears chicks then she will take Squeaky and put him in the cage beside Butterscotch's cage that I've already set up. When we get home I'll try to reintroduce Squeaky to his chicks because he does act like he would be a good father but chickens are unpredictable.

Checked on mama broody just now and I heard peeping, her egg has pipped!

Here’s the baby. It’s an Easter egger/Japanese bantam

On of the chicks survived the incident and hatched yesterday. Still unsure on the remaining 3 eggs, we’re giving them a few more days in the incubator. Nelly has two babies now.

Another chick survived and hatched today! Say hello to Turkey. Now only one egg remaining that I’m unsure of

Cluckingheck are they all chickens or is one a turkey or is that its name?

Well out of my six fertile eggs only 2 hatched - using the little 7 egg incubator

@lu bantam chickens lol, no, they’re all chickens. figured naming the chick “Turkey” was fitting since the lil peeper hatched on Thanksgiving
