November hatch-a-long

Pics
Our pekin bantam has been on a Muscovy Egg for the 35 days, and yesterday it finally hatched for her! We are so excited to add another baby to our small farm, especially another Duck~

I'm hoping this is the place to add this

Chickaletta has gone broody again so today I picked her up from the nest box and put her in her own coop set with 11 of my own eggs (mostly hers) I had sitting on my bench (hopefully fertile but I guess I'll find out in 10 days when I candle)
She near flew out of my hands when she saw the nest of eggs I set for her! I put her down beside the nest and straight away she tucked them in under her and sat. My gorgeous 6 yr old silkie is the best mumma hen, I love watching her with chicks in tow! :love:jumpy
Not sure about 11 eggs though she covered them fine it looked like, the most I have put under her is 8 and she hatched them all, as she has with all her hatches.

A little late to join this HAL, but I had a mystery mix chicken hatch this morning.

I get a csa package delivered every other week which always includes (fridgerated) eggs and decided to stick a few of the eggs with appealing shell colors in the incubator while I had quail going for the Halloween HAL. One from a light colored (maybe slightly greenish) shell actually made it all the way through development.

A little update: I haven't hatched anything in about a year so I'm setting up my dinky little still air incubator! I have a few chicken eggs I'll add from my girls and their fancy man Mister GG(barred rock/ee cross). I'll be setting these (and a couple more) a few days before the quail eggs when those come in. Fingers crossed for Easter Egger babies! :fl
