The eggs I thought I might have aren't laid yet :( so I'm setting five Cream Legbar eggs in the mini Brinsea tomorrow.... to stay in practice... and because I know once I have one incubator going, and only have one other mini available, the hens and rooster I'm waiting on, for the eggs I'm waiting for, may become inspired and get to work :) because I'll only have one mini Brinsea available AND that will make me HAVE to get another Brinsea. This is how my brain works. I just follow along. I just hatched 6 little ones today for the Halloween hatch so my practice sessions are going very well. :yesss:

I have a goofy little Faverolles pullet who decided to go broody last week. She (and all my pullets) is only 28 weeks old, but she is bound and determined, so I gave her four eggs today. My cockerel is a Splash Wheaten Ameraucana; he's only 24 weeks old himself. The eggs are from my Olive Egger, Barred Rock, Delaware, and the 4th one I *think* is from my Buckeye but might be from my Speckled Sussex. Not sure how successful a hatch will be in such a young flock, but fingers crossed.

I candled eggs today and 4 were yolkers for sure so I cracked them...Unfortunately my 2 boys must not have done there job yet again!! :barnie
So 9 left now out of 13 she was on. The others I couldnt see veins but they looked like a solid colour so that means a chick inside?? They weren't clear with blob of yolk under light.

What day are they on? Sorry if I missed that, I candled mine around 6 days and saw veins and the little embryo in the middle. I had another one hatch this morning! It pipped last night at 11pm, stayed up till 1am and decided it was time to get some sleep....I swear they know when its bed time for me and like to play magic tricks. Woke up to a baby chick!

Here’s my update !
On Tuesday and Wednesday I had a silkie hatch. Had both the EE eggs pip yesterday and then left for work today came back on lunch and both were out one was fluffy so put him in with the two silkies that came out Tuesday/Wednesday! My final silkie is pipping. We lost one silkie during incubation so out of the 8 that went to lockdown 7 hatched! Going to give the egg that looks like a blood vessel might have broke? Egg looks bloody inside till day 25 which is Saturday then maybe do an eggtopsy

what I came home to today!
