How do you know the gender of your chicks?

They’re hatching cream legbars, which is an autosexing breed. Males and females look different at hatch.

I had my lockdown date wrong. Here’s the first two chicks to hatch yesterday, on the left a mutt chick on the right a production red.

there’s probably not much hope for the eggs that havent hatched yet with Nelly being off the nest for almost 5 hours, right?

3 days until the one under the broody is due. I’m kind of expecting an early hatch though, that roosters babies always hatch a day or two early.

The baby boom is real, still 12+ eggs and wet chicks in the incubator.

On of the chicks survived the incident and hatched yesterday. Still unsure on the remaining 3 eggs, we’re giving them a few more days in the incubator. Nelly has two babies now.
