Silkie and project egg Hatch-A-Long

Aphrodite is confusing me. The down is yellow with a bit of brown on its lower back, while the wings are dark. I know I don't have any dominant whites in the parent flock. Why in the world would the down be yellow if the feathers is dark? *Sigh* so many genetic mysteries when you hatch mixed breed chicks...
Humm, strange. Mottled? And is it the lighting or are the feathers dark blue?

They do look like an odd blueish-brown color. I did have a blue and a blue cuckoo silkie in the pen.
As far as I'm aware, my birds don't carry the mottling gene.

P23 is the only egg from my isabel brahma bantam, Zombie.
P24 is the only confirmed egg from my frizzled bantam cochin (there may be more from her).
If this is still open, P9 as Calypso if female, Faun if male.
