Two more have started up over the Christmas/New Year period :celebrate

Of my July clutch of 7, all raised to independence by a young broody (Paprika), I lucked out with 5 pullets and 2 cockerels, but only one of the pullets is laying as yet...a couple of others are reddening up at last, so I'm hoping for more soon.

these chicks, hatched 1st July, were 2 weeks old yesterday; they're coming along nicely!

This broody turned 1 the day before the hatch; I don't normally let pullets sit, and instead break them until they're 2 at least, but this one clearly has a strong instinct for it having gone broody for the third time in her first year (!) 3 days after my favorite hen disappeared following a dog...

mine are hatching at day 20; can hear cheeps and the sound of breaking eggshells and the broody softly clucking to encourage them :love

I have 8 under a novice but determined broody, due to hatch 1 July.
