Beautiful white rocks! I just used a small food processor to chop up the pumpkin & sunflower seeds...mainly because I have many young birds and I wanted to be able to feed the same bucket to the smaller ones as I do the older ones without worrying the seeds were too large. I will let you know...

I used starter/grower because all my birds are young. But you can use any feed, layer, etc... I added ground up pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and some scratch. Warm weather actually helps it ferment...in colder climates they often have to ferment indoors where it is warmer...atleast that is...

Start small....mix up a five gallon bucket...try it with one coop and see if you/they like it.

I would think one of those big plastic food grade barrels would work. You just need to be able to stir it twice daily...add more feed as needed to keep it going. I just started mine yesterday in a 5 gallon bucket and I bought a plastic sieve to scoop it out/drain it. Metal will corrode due to...
