Good news and bad news. GOOD: Papaw got released from the hospital today around 4pm. BAD: He now has to be in a nursing home. He wasn't to happy about the latter. I'm not really either because I wanted him to go back to the assisted living home that he was in. But since he is on insulin now...

Just visited him in the ICU. He seems a little more alert but he can't talk because of the breathing mask thingy. His potassium levels are too high for his kidneys to process it out of his system so they are doing dialysis to try to get those levels under control. His condition is still day to...

Thanks everybody. He just don't look good. He can't even stay alert for a whole conversation. I don't think it will be long. I have asked him several times if he was any pain ( and most of the time his legs hurt really bad) and he says no.

UPDATE: Things have calmed down. Papaw seems a little better and seems like he is back on this planet. I talked with his nurse that comes by every week and she said that it sounds like a touch of dementia and that it isn't anything that is out of the norm really. She said that we might need to...

Quote: The issue with his mind not being "right" has only been going on for about a week. He usually keeps busy by washing dishes, reading the paper, or sitting on the porch. We try to get him out every once and a while.
