    Mame1616, glad to hear that you survived that storm, & your flock did too. So sad to hear of the devastation to the NJ shore. It's heartbreaking to see it on the tv, I can only imagine what it's like in real life. I hope you do get power restored on Wed & the next storm isn't bad.

    Yes, only 1/3 of the plastic went bye bye, my DH got the rest of the roof covered up today. We staple it & then screw a piece of wood strapping over the edge to give an extra layer of grip. It has worked remarkably well in the past. I was betting all the plastic would have gone during Sandy...

    When the DH bought a generator 14 yrs ago, I thought he was out of his mind. That thing just sat in the shed & took up space for years without ever being used. In the past 5 years, that has been a life saver, not only for us, but for when the parents in neighboring towns were without power...

    Good luck with the storm mame1616, I'm hoping we don't get it as bad as they say that we are. Those weather guys are usually wrong, they always seem to over hype things lately. Lets hope that holds true with this storm too.

    I'm happy to say that Handsome Boy will be going to his new forever home next weekend. He will be living the high life down on Cape Cod w a lovely flock of Salmon Faverolles. (As long as hurricane Sandy doesn't blow the cape away!)
