    How would self blue be different than porcelein as chicks? What would be the detremining factor.. Just thinking that the pattern does not show up until older on mille fleurs... Thanks for clarifying. What were the parent birds phoebs?

    Awfully cute chickies! They do look a lot like mine and its sibling. The farmer I got them from only had d'uccle and jaerhons. Ad his black mottled girl was very prolific layer and hatcher. Have your laid eggs yet from that strain? Dark eggs or light? Just curious

    Ok so the chicks are close to 8 weeks of age. Here is my unique colored roo Midas and a group picture. With the other two with no red on their combs at all, would you say we are pretty safe as pullets, or are there alot of surprises in this breed? (sorry for the delay DSF...made me post them...

    I wish...he was sold before I got my other birds... I have a regular Mille, a blue Mille hen, black mottled hen and a porcelain roo. Might be getting a Mille roo also

    They are our d'uccle, just not sure what colors... All three chicks came from eggs from a coop with a balack mottled pair, a gold necked roo and a Mille hen. Do you have pics of young black mottled?

    Does the black mottled still resemble a penguin at that age? does my little black and white appear to be pure for a 6 week old?

    last is Phantom... hoping for a pure black mottled hen... she has one white feather on a wing and her white tummy and a few tiny feathers on her head, but otherwise black. Calm and sweet

    Ok.. Mstricer had asked for more pictures of my now 6 week olds... As stated before there were was a black mottled roo, black mottled hen, mille hen and gold shouldered roo in the coop I got these guys from. . Midas is a roo.. no doubt in my brain!

    Would you say based on how ROO ish that he is, would they be hens.. or is it still too darn early... I am wondering if the golden will be a mille but rather than a brown body base, will have a gold body base. His marking are just on the wings... reminds me of a mille fleuer
