so maybe i need to ask what a wheaten looks like. when i think of wheaten, i think of, like, a wheaten marans or something similar - - that wheaten color, right? but when you say bbr is wheaten, it confuses me. bbr doesn't look like a wheaten.

leg color does not identify a breed. there are several breeds with "incorrect" leg color (barred rocks, rhode island reds, and araucanas just to name three). indeed, "correct" leg color is something breeders of chickens are constantly working on, but it doesn't mean the chickens are of a...

so it's a tufted, or not, kind of thing - - if there's a tuft or two, offspring can have one or two, if there is not a tuft, offspring will have no tufts - - - -

i have a question: if a bird has one tuft, can s/he produce a double tufted offspring?

sounds like a humidity issue. cross-beak can correct itself. as long as the chick is eating and drinking, don't worry about it.
