I have been very good about not hatching too many chicks for myself. I am hoping that when 90% of the flock goes broody in February, I can stick a bunch of Icelandic and Aloha eggs under them.
Because I am seriously not in the mood for
1-dealing with broodies who wont break
2-Raising more...
Good gravy, Mary!
In other news: I busted an Icelandic trying to lay an egg. Confirmation the little turds are laying, YAY!
WHY couldn't they have been laying 2.5 weeks ago?

x 10. Though if you want him to realize how good he has it, send him over here and I'll put him to work. Shane could use another day-laborer.
Sherriff--I did a quick and dirty candle on the Icelandics. All of the extra-large eggs were infertile. Maybe two of your older ladies...
Dar- do you need me to come over and do anything?
I have some tramadol(?) left from my recent bout of baboon-butt-face. I dont take pain killers, so you are welcome to them.
My silly Icelandics were out sleeping in the rain.
I did a very dangerous manuever (wore the DH's shoes in the super-saturated slosh) to rescue them. Then I locked the dumb things in the coop---along with my two stupid frizzles who sleep in the open on the ground.
Wet, smelly chickens. Num.

There are big patches of it here in AZ. SOmeone brought it in as a decorative plant 100 yrs ago, and it took over much of the Southern part of the state. Parts North of Phx too.
