I was offline as one of the Purrkids ate the Mouse(cord) thurs, was out all day yesterday getting the van window fixed and then getting studded snow tires mounted, and getting the new mouse etc, glad to see that you all had a good time and were able to talk among yourselves.
Nice calf Daron, he isnt missing any groceries for sure. Stuart and Louis are doing well being themselves, had to wonder what he was telling the Perch. Daron your blue rooster looks very much like my Blau. I really like your chicken coop.
Slow day ahead for me, I suspect a nap if the Purrkids will cooperate. Feel free to talk among yourselves, you too Kathy.
Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !
Funny story about Buck, the Percheron and the emus. This is Nikki walking Buck to my house. Right here she is about even with my barn on the dirt road behind our property.
Nikki lives down the driveway behind them in the picture. Her property starts at the bottom of that driveway, quite away passed that white fence. When the emus saw Buck coming, they took off running in his direction. He got scared and he reared up and turned and started running home. He pulled the rope out of Nikki's hand leaving a hematoma and a rope burn ( no gloves on!) She gave chase because she believes that if he made it back home he would learn a bad thing. She caught up with him halfway and led him back here. Those pictures of Louis and Buck were us gently introducing them. He was much calmer on the way home and kept wanting to stop and interact with the emus over the fence. Nikki is just amazing with these horses. They just had their fourteenth birthdays. She got them at three months old as rescues from the Premarin manufacturing operation they were slated to be put down. They are amazing animals.
I always think of Jack as big, except when we are around Buck and Bart!
Glad to see you back Laree. Being sick is the worst! You need to be in good shape to endure the NYD hatch! You guys are in for a ride!
Yes, I agree the Percherons are gorgeous. Nikki is amazing with them, getting them to do incredible things by the slightest movement of her finger. I am in awe. I am putting some video on my website soon of her working with Buck at my house. She had to use the lunge whip and snap it on the ground a few times because they haven't been worked for awhile. He was also distracted by all the silly creatures that reside here. Like this one.
