I agree with Kurt, they do all look like carbon copies of each other. I can also tell a big difference in Ross' pullets and mine. Ross, thank you very much for posting these pics, very instructive for us newbies.
Just from observing and learning on this thread, my hatchery BA's do have pinched tails. Also brown eyes are a no-no and mine have varying shades of brown. The chicks had some white feathers which were replaced with black and I think too much fluffy on their rear ends is to be avoided. That's...
You can order them directly from Ideal and pick them up yourself from Ideal, which is what I did for my 8 Australorps. I am an hour away also. Check their website. They're usually hatched on Tuesday and you can pick them up on Wednesday afternoon.

I could use some education: I see a difference in the number of points on the combs of the two roosters. I have seen reference to having too many points. What specifically is one to strive for? What exactly qualifies as a point?
I, for one, am happy you posted this. Thank you. I am trying to decide the right course of feed to put my BA pullets on to get them ready to lay. So many choices. I knew there were people who did not want eggs from chickens who were fed soy but wasn't sure why. And maybe this isn't the...
That's the same day my 8 pullets were hatched and your girl looks just like mine. That makes me feel really good. I know I need to get some pics of my girls and get them online.
All good reasoning. Never thought or heard about the colored frogs being poisonous or for goodness sakes the orange extension cord. I thought they loved the bright colors.
So much to learn.
This is just so interesting to me. This should be documented from your experience and the other poster who brought it up, sorry can't remember the name, and posted for others to know. Who knows, maybe a lot of good roosters were sent to the stew pot because of clothing. Shoes and boots are...
