Yeah , he was making them a nest . He is a gentleman . The hens love him . I have a red rooster (kept seperate) that when near them , they just scream their head off. And outta nowhere , Brutus will come !
Greetings guys! Hope this thread doesn't dry up. I have learned so very much here.
My flock of Australorps , and AustraWhites are thriving , and now giving my family wonderful eggs! I get three a day . I have ten hens , and one Amazing Rooster named Brutus ! Gonna post some pics! Thanks for...
Just got 10 of Australorp Roos ready for a lady to come get .
She is gonna use them as meat .
I had way to many . Hate it for them . Yet what is one to do ?
Maybe. I can't afford the hardware cloth atm. I'm gonna double the wire for now. The folks who had this place before us poured concrete around the coop about a foot deep . I know nothing is digging in . Also , the entire coop is wired from bottom and the top . A wired box if u will . I'm new at...
Greetings from Beckley folks ! Hope all are well .
Just a picture heavy update on my birds!

Thanks for looking and the info.
Now upon further assessment, I have some with large pink combs and wattles. Then there are those that have a large comb, no wattles and smaller in stature.

Im gonna keep a close eye...
Blue? I was told it was Austra White? I would love a blue one !
So , here are some better shots of the brood . I promise to be more selective in posting photos in the future.:) promise. I got so many to do straight run from the farm we got them . Also too cover any dying . Haven't lost a one ...
I have 28 Ba , 4 austra whites and six shiver sebrights . Oh and one RIR x Ba
I just don't know what to do with all the Roos . Guess I won't be buying any chicken for awhile .

Hey folks, just an update. I think that I am overridden with roo's . My Ba are a little over 4 weeks old. Out of the brooder and loving life in the coop. They are so happy.
Hoping I'm wrong as I am no expert. Yet big combs, wattles showing etc. AHHHHHHHH
I couldn't remember what exactly the lady said they were. I thought she said it was a sex link. Maybe your right. If so, can they be sexed by the black dot on head? I was reading on another thread about them.
Ill have to see if I can get back in touch of the lady that sold em to us :)
Thanks...
