    My Marans pullet laid her first egg today. I'm not sure of the proper placement on the color scale, but i believe its atleast a 4 maybe even a 5. What do the experts say? the other eggs are from my barred rock and my SBEL ( Super Blue Egg Layer). Thanks in advance.

    My son brought his mixed pit/ lab up here to stay for a while. I will say he does not like cats.... But so far he hasn't looked at the chicks to hard. But then again every time he gets within 20 feet of the coop I tell him to go lay down. He listens pretty good.:lol:

    I'm no expert by far but if its 7 weeks old with that much red on comb and wattles , when i compare to mine i'd say HE is a cockrel. But this is my very first flock ever so i could be wrong.

    From what I've read so far lots of people are useing medicated feed and using a c v , there doesn't seem to be a problem with it so far
