I don't see a pic...but my BCm and BBS Marans didn't lay anyy eggs til late winter this year and I hatched them all last Spring. But wow, when they did start laying! The eggs are huge and so dark! I"m waiting on shade cards so I can tell how dark they are. ( I just sold 15 of the 19 chicks I...
that looks like little Roo to me. I'm fearing the same thing here with 2 of my BCM babies...time will tell. Maybe the babies will look better than the daddies now, then I'll have to make some changes...
awww, too cute!
I just took some pics of my 3 BCM chicks (or Blue? Hard to tell in our shady dark house) and 5 Olive Egger chicks.
4 are 2 wks old, and the other 4 are 1 week old..
.2 older Maran chicks in 1st row
1) blue roo...
Me too- I'm going to set a few of the darkest eggs my Marans are laying (they hatched last Spring and just started laying a month ago!) in a day or two, they look pretty dark to me- I need to get an egg color chart to see how dark they are. I have 6 eggs from my Sebastopols too, so I may start...
I haven't posted in quite awhile here, mainly because I thought my BCM were duds...they were hatched last Spring and I knew they were later to begin laying, but I just got the st 2 BCM eggs this week! January or 2013..they are 10 months old! Here is 1 pic with one of the eggs- it's sort of like...
Here are some new photos of my BCM and BBS Marans..they're 7 and 8 weeks old now. I have 32 in all, ( 2 of them being OE chicks.) The all black one with cheek poofs is one of the OE and there's a beautiful blue pullet OE too. I think they're both girls.
I know it's too soon to see who looks...
omg is that little 'turd' adorable! We'd only be so lucky to find a little one who needed our help like he needs you. My DD and I are totally "cat' peeps - we have 3 indoor ones and 2 outdoor barn cats (fierce mousers when we adopted them, but now stand at our door and meow for us to feed them...
I think my babies are all cute- including my Sebbie goslings, my future Mandarin ducklings, same thing with my Aussie babies due in a few weeks, and my Big Blue Swedish ducklings due in a few weeks too. They're all adorable!
But how's this for a cutie patootie?!? And look at the copper...
Thanks- and as promised: a fuzzy butt dried up and fluffy chicks pic...with Teddy. The big chicks next door had Teddy last week and seem to be only using him now (to stand on his head to get higher up in the brooder box ( )
Sadly the lame one who wasn't getting up had to be culled today. He...
well 12 little BCMs hatched. I did help 1 or 2 out...for some reason, even though I never opened it after lockdown, they didn't progress and I could see them weakening. So they're all doing great except 1...who lays on it's back alot and cheeps, flails its legs...etc. Time will tell- but here is...
11 out (1 is about out) and 1 nicely zipped. 3 not pipped or doing anything. I'll wait for the zipped one and the about out 1 to ba all the way out then I'll check that other "thought to be good" one to see what's going on....
They're in various stages of wet-dry so once all dry and fluffy, I'll...
These are the eggs/chickies I bought from you! There are 8 lively little babies hatched and still in the bator- 2 more zipping right now, 1 still pipped and breathing but no zipped anymore than this am when I left for work...If these 2 weren't zipping now, I'd reach in and help that one...It...
overnight tally...3 BCM chicks hatched, 8 more pips or zipping ones, and 4 not doing anything yet (2 of those the clear ones I thought wouldn't hatch.)
I agree....Go Chickies!
He's gorgeous! When do the little BCM chicks start to get their colors? Mine are all black and white right now (less than 1 week old.)
also wanted to say- I've got 15 more BCM eggs (really dark ones this time!) in the bator on lockdown- day 20 today- and 3 are pipped already! I think 2 are...
Blarneyeggs- Good Luck! Hope Apple can help! He's at least an hour north of Philly so that'd make 2 hrs between you and us....h(he's only 20 min from home...he helps when he wants to. When he does, he's really really good, but when he doesn't want to, ugh! You know the saying, he's horrid! and...
