I think it's the Wheaties fault....they are a bad influence! Yours hang together. The only Marans I ever had go broody was living in the Ameraucana pen....all were broody at the same time. They took turns sitting on the eggs and raised the chicks together. Here is the Marans waiting her turn...

The suspect is already gone. If ANY offspring hatch with yellow legs then that hen is split for yellow. The difficult
part of this is identifying each hens eggs. Some lay very distinctive ones, others lay similar, so I have to check nests
every 20 min to catch them in the act. As I...

agreed on the egg color and being easier for the selling eggs. Did you create those girls in just one cross or how did you end up with those? They really are striking
Well long story, but the yellow leg popped up in one of my hatches. I had only kept a BCM cockerel and a hen after...

Pretty girl! It is amazing how much they look like Marans. I have done the cross as well and I really like them.
They have a bit longer body and are not as chunky as Marans, but the coloring is very Marans like.
Mine are only 20 weeks old and not laying....can't wait to see the eggs...

That is music to my ears that she ships chicks too!
and ohhhhh yes those BLR girls I have from her need the wide load signs...they are chunky and definitely have some junk in the trunk. I love that and would be very sad if they were anything else. I look at them and my big butted...
Kim I totally have to agree with you about the Dels. I have some very friendly birds....
My BLR Wys will follow me around like puppy dogs, my W/BW Ameraucanas will jump on my shoulder
and loved to be held once they get over the initial shock of being picked up. I get many emails saying
these...
This is my third generation Blue Copper cockerel I have chosen out of 4 to put over
his grandma, mom and aunts. He was the second best for size, but had the best
body to tail transition and lacing. He has great width, but dang I wish his shoulders
were more mahogany/red. He has a single line of...

Lisa, I think we have the same bator and while I believe there are some hotter and cooler spots, even with the fan,
I don't think the variance is enough to cause non development...just a slight difference in hatch times, maybe.
Do all the eggs look alike...like they are maybe from the...

BLACK is beautiful - - - I see no need to change the BLACK pot belly pig avaitar. . .
She could use a little more copper around the neck
I'm going to be nice and not play the "Racial Card" in this game....It just seems that your avatar of a mad, wrinkle-faced, pot-bellied pig does...

I'm glad you like the Wellie egg Kim. I know you've posted several times to newbies on the Wel thread that a Welsummer
egg should not be as dark as a Marans. So I've wondered if they were too dark?? Or my Marans too light...
I am so insecure The Wellies don't have the glossy finish of...
So glad they made it safe and sound Kim. I'll be excited to watch both yours
and Lisa's simultaneous hatch! Makes me want to start some myself...
if I didn't have 47 already started . I'm doing a simultaneous hatch
with Kathyinmo....I'm going to try shipping chicks for the first time...she is...
Actually eggs I've sent to WA and CA have taken 2 days...Some I've shipped
within FL 3
I think it's because the ones that go far FLYYYYYY instead of ride
Pink...your box is packed. 2 Blue Copper mama's, 4 Blue Copper daughters,
and one BCM. (+7 BLRW and one Wellie). Here are the 7 eggs I'm sending on the
right. They have been laying since Sept/Oct. The eggs on the left are marked
marked 12/19 and were a couple of months into their cycle. Todays...
Wrapping those eggs up tonight Pink .
So excited to be sharing them with you. My two BRLW roos came from a breeder in GA who
has Foley/Marquisella stock. They are HUGE. I think Sue has some of the nicest BLR's on the planet!
My girl's are Foley/Penny stock from McSpin in New York. Love...
Harris....Love that last pic, their contrasting colors are soooo striking.
Your girls have very nice coppering and eye color ...can be difficult in the blues.
I really like that Blue Copper roo...very nice top line and tail angle. His back flows
into his tail in a nice smooth line. He has very...
I've gotten the most breakage with eggs that were individually bubble wrapped,
but only newspaper was used as padding and filler. I've really been lucky with
many other shipments and have had little or no breakage as long as the eggs
have padding and the surrounding materials allow for "give"...
