    I've never hatched my Maran eggs any differently than I have all my other eggs. The only difference is that they are difficult to candle. Some people do not even try to candle them. But besides that, I really have not noticed any difference.

    I am hatching out my first set of Cuckoo Marans eggs. Although the eggs are still dark, I notice they are lighter than the FBCMs. I'm wondering if I would be able to candle these. Has anyone been able to candle Cuckoo Maraans?

    Bravo, I'm so sorry. That's horrible. The only one I have that even comes close to fitting the bill (have to check though as I think he has Davis lines) is a meanie. If I can't breed him, dh is thinking of keeping it as his personal pet though. They've become close friends.
