Yes, exactly. 7 of her rare ones, 1 of mine. I raise hatchery pullets as well and he took at least a dozen of these over the summer. Definitely a vermin.- puglady

So sorry for your losses, its definitely tough. I have a neighbor on here(BYC) that has rare breeds as well and we share the same neighborhood hawk. She lost a bunch of CL girls and a boy this summer to the hawk . I understand that they're protected but theres got to be a time when enoughs...- puglady

Unfortunatelly Depp is the only one left. I culled for the twisted comb and had 2 boys left. The nasty hawk came back a couple of days ago and Cloony defended his ladies. I have some younger stock now from GFF that came in within the last 1 1/2 weeks and am in the middle of acquiring a kennel...- puglady

Sounds like a good cross, more tradidional roo's instead of the hatchery meat birds. Longer to grow out but sound like they should be huge birds. I haven't seen the neighborhood hawk family in 2-3 weeks, the crows are back as well. I decided to let them free range and opened the door to the CL coop. Thought I'd post an update on the boys. They're 7 1/2 weeks old now. Looks like Pitts out of the running for breeding. He's got a big crest but his comb is pushed over badly by it.
