    Oh and keep track of placentas. I lost a GDS decades ago because she retained one and pushed both horns of the uterus out. If you think she hasn't passed one or strains at all after all the pups are out, the vet can give her an injection to make sure.

    You can probably feel if there are any more pups. Try to feel for both horns.

    No litters here in a few years, so living through your delivery. LOL I never take them out unless the mom is pushing. Just do it long enough they don't get crushed (BIG dogs) and then I put them right back in. They usually nurse while the contractions are going and usually helps move things...
