Suspect #2, also cameo BS male. Congrats on the two, it's so satisfying to find out the complete genetic makeup of your birds if they are questionable!
Purple did not originate from cameo. If you check out roughwood aviaries and their booklet on purple, it originated from a BS hen. The likely hobo that your cameos are carrying peach is slim (not entire impossible, but slim). I would still bet on cameo chicks, both barred winged pattern and...
Cameo chicks don't start out light. However the first photos you had with the pied chick are likely cameo. The later ones that are yellow with cream coloured wing feathers are BS, but a couple of weeks will tell you if they too are cameo.
That sucks when you lose a good bird. I lost a 4 yr old opal male during transport - broke right out of a box, and I will no longer use cardboard for transporting peas. He literally busted through, I didn't think it would have been possible, it was heavy duty cardboard. He must have been peed...
Bronze have long been a favourite of mine, and my guy looks the same, 5+ foot tail. I have some offspring from my midnight bs and my charcoal that also have shown up with some white flights even though neither parent has any visible signs. I too am looking forward to seeing what genes they end...
A blackshoulder male can show white flecks in their plumage till age 4. The presence of dark pied or white would be indicated by fully white flight feathers and possibly white throat patch.
Some birds that are split to white will also have white throat patches. A bird that is only carrying one copy of pied and no white or white eyed will not show any signs of carrying pied. Only breeding that bird to white will determine that it is carrying pied.
