Nothing in the garden today - it may be Spring in Aust - but the clouds think it is Winter so it has rained all day.
It was girls get together arvo - so I went and played board games and gossiped (oops that should be solved the worlds problems) ;)
I did some watering cause it is spring in Aust and that is 18C at 8.09PM in the dark.
I pruned the dead stuff off my reeds and binned it.
That was it - too much else to worry about away from home.
Not much happened in the garden today - did a bit of pruning.
Turned a nice mulberry tree branch into a finch perch.
Turned some of the Coral Vine into finch nest framework.
Had too much to do indoors.
I don't think we need anymore rain, but would take it if we could to help you out.
The weeds here this year are growing as you turn your back on them - thanks to all this years rain.
Filled a bin with weeds at the rental yesterday.
Might manage to fill another bin with weeds here at home...
Planted a bunch of green spider plants at the rental, to make the garden look nicer that the bare dirt, the darn dog dug.
Came home and weeded a bunch into the bin for collection.
Planted some more geranium cuttings - just an ordinary red - but it grows well.
I am getting nowhere outside today - rain for 15mins fine for 5min - repeat. Can't even hang the washing out to rinse.
Yesterday I did a huge amount of weed removal at the just vacated rental - ditto the day before.
So an easy day is probably a good idea.
Sometimes the rules and regulations that are imposed are just plain stupid.
If he went and knocked on each door and said happy "whatever" day.
It would be a gift so they could just go jump.
Just started weeding the garden at the rental after doing the end of tenancy paperwork.
Don't these young people know you pull weeds in gardens? You do not run over the garden with a lawn mower to weed.
Ah well - lot more to do there this weekend - replanting the gardens.
Been pruning the Chinese Pepper tree out the back yard again - all this winter rain just makes the thing grow and grow.
Also been cleaning out nests in the finch avairy and putting them in water to soak the poop off.
Then the birds have been getting great handfuls of chickweed.
Oh - it must...
It started raining again yesterday evening - had been doing so overnight and this morning too - but just stopped. 14C at 10-22AM on an erratic Sunday - sun just starting to shine - maybe it is time to get out in the garden.
Power in West Aust is 28.7C/kw Plus GST
We have a solar hotwater system, insulation in the roof, big trees all round the house for shade in summer and wind protection in winter, and NO airconditioner. The temp goes from 3C in winter to 45C in summer.
Planted more Radish seeds, but it has been raining and I had to go feed and water most of mums avairies since her accident.
Then I had to take her to the hospital to have the dressing redone. So tomorrow looks like a better day to plant strawberries and bulbs.
Hubby pruned a lot of dead stuff off the palm last weekend - and being an Aussie male - left it for me to deal with. So I chopped it up and filled the bin, then started pruning the chinese pepper in the backyard. It seems to want to cover the entire backyard, which is good where I want shade and...
