Same here. You’re done after 3 jabs - and none of this fishing around for it, either! I was a medic, usually really good at venipuncture because I listened to my patients, never stuck them more than twice, and didn’t beat their arm to death to make a vein stand up. Not necessary.
Sorry, I’m...
Hey everyone! Most of the lettuce has been harvested. Butter crunch this year, and so tasty! The cabbages and collards are doing really well - if I can just keep the caterpillars out. They even munch on onion tops, it’s crazy! I might start putting the little beggars in a jar to feed to the...
Onions have been in the ground since Feb 4. Re-planted several due to a curious squirrel. Have buttercrunch lettuce and spinach among the onions now, and a chicken wire fence and cover (built by hubby) to keep the critters out (chickens included). The plants were provided by our son-in-law -...
These traps do work! You have to find the hole, which usually isn’t too hard to do. Try tractor supply or a small local hardware store. And get several traps - gophers breed like crazy! :barnie
Dude could have been up to no good.
Our house is nearly 1/4 mile from the road, built there in the woods on purpose, AND the gate is locked most of the time. The nerve of people ignoring locked gates and no trespassing signs is getting ridiculous. Sorry for the rant.
That kind of sounds like a gopher. We have Botta’s Pocket Gophers here, and they will pull plants underground and eat them. Or, eat the roots off and you can’t figure out why the plant died till you pull it up - minus the roots! We’ve had so many gardens fail because of the little pests.
“... pale, nasty, flavorless snot.”
I don’t know why, but that cracked me up - and it’s true! Actually, a few people asked me what was wrong with my chickens because the yolks were orange, were they safe to eat? One customer didn’t like them, said they looked “wrong.” :hmm S’okay. Fresh eggs...
On the other hand, maybe if I just threw the seeds out there, they’d grow?? A trip to NY is a bit far for me to go for dill seeds, being in TX! But I’d love to go - hole in the wall places are the best!
Wow! I can’t grow dill at all. Bought seeds, plants . . . And have decided dill hates me. My grandmother had it everywhere, not me - it just curls up it’s toes and dies! lol
The speckled Sussex we have prefer to forage. They will look for ways to escape the pen if given the chance. I love them, but keeping up with them is a pain!
Oooh, I am so sorry! I have scars on both fore arms from a nasty tempered rooster. I kept thinking ( mistakenly) that he’d settle down and quit being such a little s*** until he went for my face. That did it. Rocky went to freezer camp to become chicken broth.
Watered everything! Cut the mint back as it was looking leggy. Chicken-proofed the rest of the herbs and lettuce with chicken wire and hardware cloth. (Some of them still find ways to escape and head right for the herb beds!!). Lots of green tomatoes and peppers.
