Got all the trellises installed. Still need to stabilize them. Also mowed the painful 45 degree slope on the side yard. Next up, shower and happy hour

In our area, we had top medical facilities. Really great doctors, hospitals - it was well-known for our little town!
Then, the powers that be allowed a mega company, Ballad, to come in and buy up all the hospitals. There is nothing that they don't own here now. They made so many promises about our care being just as good and they wouldn't close anything down.
We now have some of the worst care you can imagine. They fired half the staff and a bunch more quit. They closed half the facilities. The EMTs will pick you up and recommend that you let them drive you out of the area so you don't languish in the hallway for days and then be misdiagnosed.
They send a lot of people to collections without even sending a bill. I went in, paid my bills, they said it was all covered, then I found out when I ran a credit report that I'd been sent to collections. It's happening to about half of the patients. We had protests here for months on end, but it was in vain.
It's awful.![]()
All mine are in raised beds. This will be Year 3 for them. I didn't have any that popped up outside the bed last year but this year is another story. I'm finding them up to 4-5 feet away from their raised bed. In one case, a new cane came up about a foot outside its designated bed but grew up through 2 giant truck tires stacked on top of one another that were filled with mulch and soil (rose bush bed). That's what I call determined...We have raspberries in raised beds and so far (after a few years) none have spread beyond the raised bed. I guess we will see if they stay contained.
This sounds like the way the thistle in my yard grows - up through 2ft of soil! All mine are in raised beds. This will be Year 3 for them. My life story. I have to put hardware cloth over everything I plant until it gets a few inches tall.I have had problems with animals eating my seeds. Chipmunks or squirrels I think.
we rented one [power auger] from HD when we put up our fence & it was worth every penny! We have almost impossible digging here & that thing was a life saver.
It's 86 degrees today. 95 with the heat index. I feel bad for the animals outside...Morning all. I prepped for hail and it never came, thank goodness. 2.5 inch hail about 3 miles south of me, but no leaves on trees really yet, no crops in yet, and only about 6 houses there, and it missed all of them.
So I removed all the protective bits from the inside of the greenhouse and moved things from the floor back the shelves. I really need to get a shade cloth up there Phew it was hot.
I took the clear plastic in the butterfly garden up this morning to check underneath. I planted a pound of wild flower seeds late last week, and the plastic was to keep the moisture IN and the robins OUT.
I'll be darned if things aren't up 1/2 inch already.
So the plastic is drying on the fence and I installed and charged those irrigation lines. Then I put up some white netting to keep the robins out, well spent 6$. I have Three more and one going to the birdbath to go, but later, when it cools off 85 (was 90 yesterday)
Renting sounds like a good option if you are only going to need the tool for one big job. I prefer to buy my tools if I know I will be using them over and over again. Our local Home Depot does not have a very big rental selection, but it would be worth checking out. We don't have a Lowe's in our area. Good idea on the rent
