Having raised bees for a number of years, bees do not typically become aggressive while harvesting. Most bees will only become aggressive in the defense of the hive and the Queen.
After watching the garden dry out in the double digit winds over the weekend, for the last two days I have been watching the beginnings of the next global flood...pondering building an ark or starting tomatoes... 🤔
Trimmed the Bushes today. Been a couple of years since that has happened. The silver lining is that after running the cutting through the chipper, I should be set for mulch this year.
Drinking & driving is supported by science. Science also says masks do not stop the spread of any virus. Making travel inconvenient for healthy people in an attempt to discourage travel is the first step on the road to 1984. Once government finds that it can control movement, and the people...
This is the most un-American idea I have read all day. Intentionally causing difficulty in travel to reduce travel is a means of government controll of free will. And simply because someone might be sick. Where will this end?
Over 2" of mostly gentle rain today. Great day to do vehicle maintenance. I did get some tomatoes & peppers to replace some that were quitters. More rain tomorrow so I think I'll reband my chickens since they won't be outside anyway.
Went to visit our new puppy this morning. We pick her up next Friday.
Filled in a low spot in the yard with 2 tons of dirt yesterday. Seeded it today. Time to plant some rescued hostas and the DW's lavendar.
Blueberries are in. Put up rabbit fence and it was 98* today. It was supposed to rain, but I think it was so hot, it evaporated before it got to the ground.
The last brood of this year's fuzzy butts are moving to the grow out pen tomorrow and DW has some lavender she wants in the herb garden.
Each fall I clean out my coop and spread the coop compost around the base of my fruit trees. I live in an area where it can get well below zero. My thoughts on this is that it adds a layer of insulation and the compost would produce some heat as it continued to process, and with the trees in...
I had four peach trees at one time and the produced fruit in their third year. Best peaches I ever ate. The next year we had a late frost and after that the trees started declining. I think I am a little to far north for peaches, but man they are good.
