What did you do in the garden today?

So, I let out the big girls so the littles wouldn't be so harassed!

I got them in and gave them scratch - piggies!

Our blind-in-one-eye hen gets her own little pile on the upper deck.

After they were done pigging out on the scratch, two of the hens cornered some of the littles, and were taking turns pecking them - not too bad as one would peck and give them the evil eye, then after several moments, the other would peck and give them the evil eye...etc until they decided to run for it!

A nice sunny day here! hamburgers and hot dogs grilled over the fire for dinner!

I am officially gardening now! We got all the garlic outside on the raised bed and mulched with straw. I'm going to get the kale planted tomorrow. I'm debated on the brussels sprouts - are they frost hardy?
Mine lasted all winter.. The red or purple I will pull. The green are all sprouting new leaves

Well, I may have bought a few more seeds
Beets - chioggia
Cukes - muncher burpless
Beans- royal burgundy
Corn - peaches and cream
Radish - easter egg
Peppers - bell color mix
Zinnia - candy stripe mix
Sweet pea - royal mixture
Pumpkin on a stick - red ruffle eggplant
Rutabaga - american purple top
strawberry popcorn
Pak choi
Turnip - purple top white globe
Tomato - red cherry large
Squash - genovese zucchini
They're all from Livingston.
What needs/can be started indoors and transplanted successfully? The corn and root veg have the longest maturity time, but I know the root veg can get cold, but I dont know about corn at all.

Start peppers and tomatoes indoors. You can grow in small pots for 6-8 (or 10 in my case) weeks before transplanting.
If the red ruffle eggplant is anything like other eggplants, start that indoors with the tomatoes and peppers.
I direct sow corn right after last frost date.
You could start zucchini indoors around last frost date. It will should be warm (60+ regularly) when transplanted outside, which is usually a few weeks after last frost.
Everything else can be direct sowed.
