I want to have a backup plan if people won't take baby chicks. Any places that you can just give baby chicks to? I called my local co-op but they said they won't. :/

The rooster is a black silkie bantam. I have 3 other silkies, hens, and then these are the other hens, which could be in the mix as well: Sapphire Gem Buff Brahma Buff Orpington Barnevelder Barred Rock Cuckoo Marans Speckled Sussex Olive Egger (who lays brown eggs, oddly) Welsummer Gold Laced...

So... a bit of a weird question. I can't have any more chicks, but I want to hatch chicks (never done it!) and one of my hens is actively developing baby chicks. So... is there a market for straight run, silkie mixes, unvaccinated?

The older of my girls refuse, but the young ones love the snow. It makes me worried they'll get frostbite.

:hitBoth my Sapphire Gem, Safaia, and my OE, Sam, have mild frostbite. When they came out of the coop this morning, I noticed that the tips of their combs were very white and dead looking. They have really big, floppy combs.

Dang... hadn't even thought about that!
