Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Maybe let me know Have you thought of Auction on them.
There is a poulty Auction in Chehalis at least make money on them.

Oh, I called Wilco, and they have a breed I would love to get. Blue Sapphire Plymouth Rock. I am scared there won't be any in May, so do you think I should get them now? Afraid to mail order because of DOA chicks. :jumpy:jumpy:jumpy
If you're set up to brood them now, I don't see why not. I don't intentionally aim for May but I've ended up with 3 rounds of May chicks, so apparently that's the magic month for me. :)

That's a great idea-though I'm a couple hours away from Chehalis.

Ok! If I can't find others who will take them, I'll try that.

I would really like to try outside brooding. I have a Cozy panel heater. Still thinking about the "how" I'll do that. I have a second coop that we used to house newcomers before integrating, which has roosting bars and a space for nesting box, which won't be needed for brooding. I'll have to put a small ramp and a fence to keep the hens out, but not out of sight, I think.

Check the panel heater for any recommended temperature ranges for use as a brooding plate - some do suggest things like 50F or more.

Assuming it'll work in cooler temperature ranges, as long as you can provide a draft free, dry, safe spot for the chicks, no reason you can't brood outdoors even when it's cooler.
