I like guns, but I don't LOVE guns. Automatics make no sense to me. At least in a civilian life, they aren't practical. Fun to shoot, but I don't need 40 rounds to take out a coyote, or raccoon. I have a semi auto, and if it takes more then two rounds to down something I am doing something...
Really? If I were them, I'd be ecstatic! I was thinking about a compound bow this year, so I can hunt more silently, some people mind less. I can spend a dollar on a bullet, or 400 dollars to replace 20 chickens, I'm taking the 1 dollar option.
I haven't had issues with birds at all, but I know that they are a huge issue to some. I know that I am covering my turkey enclosure soon for this reason, since I see no reason to make them change their ancestoral ways and enter a coup every night, and the chickens have goats that seem to scare...
Maybe I am retarded, but what does DH mean? I'm assuming D***ed husband? Dumber half? Domestic Heffer? etc? I don't know lol
No problem on tractor help. I am a diesel mechanic by trade, and I love anything that goes vroom, if you need help, PM me. I am biased to Kubota's and John Deere, but...
I think a tractor without ROPS is like a cell phone that only plays games, worthless. ROPS (roll over protection sytem) is uber important, as roll overs are one of the single biggest killers of farmers in tractors. Don't ever buy a tractor with out it in my honest opinion, I'd rather have that...
This makes sense, I do like going and talking to other raisers of the stock I keep, they do have some knowledge, and local knowledge at that, that can greatly help! I know I also can't afford the week off work to do it though lol You are in Battleground, do you know any of the Walsh's down...
I agree with this statement. I wouldn't buy new, I like older tractors that are well known and the big issues already identified. We had Fords, now New Holland, but really any name brand is good. So Allis Chalmers (sp?) Ford/New Holland, John Deere, Kubota etc. In small tractors, I have loved...
I think having friendly birds to a point is needed, show or production, because you don't want a bird that is going to tear you, your friends, family, another animal or pet up if you are requiring eggs or show from them. I do love the complex patterns of the birds, and they are gorgeous. My...
Just jumping into the thread here, that is very cool stuff you are talking about.
I don't know chickens well enough to tell the show breeds from good layers or meat birds lol. I do know that I am much more interested in production, I just got luck on the pretty part lol
