My two cats are completely trustworthy with day old chicks to grown. They spend a great deal of time hanging around the chickens and will lay near the babies and let them hop on them. It all depends on the kitty.

Oh you are going to love Silkies. I will be hatching eggs in the spring from my girls. At present I have one little white Silkie, some Silkie/d'Uccle mixes and mille fleur d'Uccles that are all 7 weeks old. Good luck on your search for these fun, pretty chicks.
