    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Our local feed store would sell just 3 - maybe check with those. I wonder if you would be able to find someone to split that minimum order with if you hung around in Tractor Supply, too. Meyer Hatchery (I believe) still does a 3 chick minimum order during warmer months...maybe check there...

Hi everyone! I'm looking for Barred Rock hatching eggs or around 6 chicks that will be ready between Feb. 22nd - March 11. I'm in the Wanatah area and could travel up to an hour. Anyone nearby have these breeds? Thanks!

Hi everyone! Does anyone want to talk NPIP? Is it still $80? Is that for the testing or the certification? I can't find anything info on being certified, only on becoming a tester - do you know of links that explain how to have your flock certified? If I took the class and became a...

Pretty good! Much smaller since I got out of the egg business. How is yours?

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've checked this thread! How is everyone enjoying the winter so far? Ugh. I think it's a bad sign to be sick of trudging through the snow in the middle of December. I'm pretty sure the chickens are sick of being locked up everyday, too. Of course, it...

We're north of you by about 2 hours up 421. I could drive up to a half hour to meet you with him if you want to drive the rest of the way. He's too pretty to process, so I'd like to find him a home.

I'm finishing up hatching in the next few weeks. All I'll have are chicks and most of those are already spoken for. I may have some older chicks in a month or so, but nothing older. I hope you find some!

Ok -- one more for today. Is anyone in my area looking for a few more cuties? We have some extras that are looking for a new home. The black one is a Black Copper Marans/Cuckoo Marans mix (all black - probably female). The little yellow ones are Orpington/EE mixes that hatched from blue...

Hi everyone! I am so far behind, I know...... We just had a chick come out of our Sportsman like this the other day because it jumped off the back of the hatching tray. I think it got stuck underneath the hatching tray and couldn't stand up. It corrected itself without 10 minutes once in the...

They are Mille Fleur d'Uccles. They kind of were seeing the first light. I had just shined a flashlight in there to see what was going on!

We find that these types of things always seem to happen on Sundays when all that's available is the emergency vet clinic! It's a joke around here to keep a close eye on the animals on Sunday afternoons so we can avoid paying $200 just to walk through the clinic doors.

X2 It reminds me of the little OEGB hen we used to have, too. They are striped as chicks and it looks like it still has some striping on its head.

Here are my first babies to hatch in my new (to me) Sportsman. They incubated most of the way in my Little Giant and then moved into the Sportsman for lock-down and hatch. More are going into lock down tomorrow and I've got eggs set to hatch for the next two weeks. I'm unstoppable now! Fun...

I turned mine at 6, 2, and 10. Or more loosely when I got up, sometime in the earlier afternoon, and then right before I went to bed. Good luck!

Those marans mixes will make really nice meat birds in a few weeks, or would also make very handsome flock roosters, too. They're cuties! I'd take them if they were just a few weeks younger and could put them in with my current chicks. Good luck finding them a home!

We had a broody do a wonderful job last spring -- she hatched 6 out of the 6 fertile eggs she had, which is much better than I've ever done with an incubator. I'm hoping she goes broody again this year, too. We had another consistently broody hen that I let set last fall. That time I stupidly...

I'd say honesty is the best way to go. Just let them know that the chicks will be straight run and you won't know what hatches until day 21. Personally, I would simply sell the chicks after they hatch instead of trying hatch rates or something. If you have two available, then that's what you...
