oh i am strong for him i tell him just stay positive and positive things will happen its working so far
That's hatch rate and don't let anyone lock you down to it.Straight run if you aren't able to sex the babies. Its difficult to promise it till you really know what your flocks can do. I wont sell hatching eggs till i can be comfortable and know my eggs will be fertile..Hatched chicks, sell them for what they are. Waterfowl take 28 days as average but muscovy will take longerwell i started another batch of eggs in my incubator thursday. does anyone sell the chicks that they hatch out?? i have been approached about buying some newly hatched chicks but i just don't know what to tell them. firstly, i have no way to gauruntee how many chicks they would get from a hatch. secondly i have no way to determine what they would get (pullet or roos).
I've thought about having a set rate for a number of eggs i set and you get what you get. does anyone have any experience?!?!? also after my next set of chicken eggs i'm hoping to set some duck eggs!! never tried that before though, heard it was like shickens just longer and i need to mist the eggs periodically. that about right?
thanks for all of your help
I'd say honesty is the best way to go. Just let them know that the chicks will be straight run and you won't know what hatches until day 21. Personally, I would simply sell the chicks after they hatch instead of trying hatch rates or something. If you have two available, then that's what you have. (Unless you have a more predictable incubator than I've been using!)well i started another batch of eggs in my incubator thursday. does anyone sell the chicks that they hatch out?? i have been approached about buying some newly hatched chicks but i just don't know what to tell them. firstly, i have no way to gauruntee how many chicks they would get from a hatch. secondly i have no way to determine what they would get (pullet or roos).

I dont thing position matters. I had hatched chicks rocking and rolling all my eggs around so I'm sure they will be ok and once they hatch...playing soccer with all the other eggs. Its day 18 and i went to candle for the last time before i locked them down. And when i picked the egg up I found this. Finally Good News For Once!!!!![]()

What is this line in between the X and F ??? Its a PIP!!!!! I have several internal pips and lots of chirping. The egg behind the brown one has an internal pip as well. I think i will have babies earlier than expected. SoI wont be able to sleep tonight. LOL![]()
The pip is on the side of the egg and not by the air cell. My only worry. The other thing is The pip was face down when I picked it up and I forgot to turn it back down before i locked it down. Hope this wont effect the baby any. This is why i love my incubators right next to me.
Here is a pic of the rest of the eggs. I added more water and locked them down!!!
The egg that is piped is the 2 one from the back on the very right row. The little eggs in very front in the middle is a little cochin that has a internal pip as well. Several others have internal pips as well already!! Day 18 only!!
