I don't worry about the mossie until the bird is an adult... Then I cull... If it is mossy as a baby it makes no difference to me as they grow out of it and the dark egg gene is related to the mossy I understand.
nope not possible.... You can tell the roosters when they get saddles. That is the rule... Combs don't even tell the tail on some lines... Wait for saddle feathers with COLOR... Not just shape... color. It is a pain but you will get more hens this way.
