Okay marans buddies... Geebs here and I found my hen in distress trying to lay an egg... I have her in the tub... How long does it take to expell an eggbound egg??? She is miserable... This is the hen that I posted a pic of.. Rooster feathered.. My fave!!! DRAT... She looks just like that darkie layer posted and she lays like that too. Any advice will be appreciated.

Nah not really... just could use someone to talk to while I worry.​

Well my hatchery Cuckoo eggs are not like BC eggs but mine have just started to lay reg sized eggs that is at the very top is a Partridge Rock the middle is my meatie experiment and the bottom 2 are my pesky Delawares who the one hen sang for an hour before she did the deed at least some of my Cuckoos have speckles and the Dellie egg has purple spots....

oh geebs I hope she gets that egg out of there for you I don't know much about being egg bound but at the size of my Dellie eggs I might need to learn....did you post at the egg laying board?

Ohhhh they are gorgeous!

Geebs---so sorry! Gosh, I don't know what to tell you to do. I haven't had that crisis yet! I have heard that a warm heating pad too helps if she gets cranky about being in the water.

Keep us posted and I am wishing you and her all the best. I would love to stay and help you worry but I gotta go get the DH from work because i borrowed his car today!
