    Often a lack of feathers is caused by them being to warm( they don't need them so why should they grow them?!).

    Here in Western WA egg laying is definitely affected by daylight as they lay more on the cold sunny days than on the warm cloudy days. Marshall

    Don't get to set in your ways because generally speaking the bigger the breed the slower they g.row.(to a certain point) Giants for example

    I think that the closer that they get to the north the slower they will advance b/c they are native to africa, and thus not adapted quite as well to our climate as other bees. Anyone that tells you that they are a different species,kind, or whatever you want to call it is telling you...

    I decided to move mine out to the shelter as soon as they were finished in the incubator. I don't want the house smelling like chicks, and I don't have a tub to put them in right now, so out they go. Don't worry they have a heat lamp set up warm.
