Hello everyone. Been crazy my way and not had the energy for anything else. A large mass was found on my husband's kidney just before christmas. Had surgery jan 30 to remove kidney and mass and been consumed with all that goes with that territory. I'm literally sitting in an er with him...

Wow. Some crazy stories. I know someone who had a pole barn on their property. The mom went out one day and there was a guy in the barn who had stayed there at least one night. My chickens are in the pole barn and there is a lot of stuff in there and places to hide. Always is a little...

I did not know that there IS hardy hibiscus. Now I'll have to do some looking around. Do you notice if any honeybees are interested in them?

Are we all sure that it's really a man and not just a woman that has resurfaced pretending to be a man? (There have been some pretty "know-it-all" women on byc before....) That whole demeanor seems to be rampant on forums in general. The beekeeping forums have their share too. But I just...

Oh...and the best thing I found for PI is Zanfel. It really works, but expensive. You can get it at any drugstore usually or probably a Wallmart. ETA: This has a grit to it. You scrub PI that has already broken out with it and the grit feels great because you're "scratching" the pi :) I...

@seminolewind POISON IVY!!!! I got it from my chickens a couple years ago. I had never had a PI allergy before, but I, like you, realized that they were walking through it every day and even gathering eggs was exposing me to it on a daily basis. I guess that even if you've never reacted...

@robhuncorand @seminolewind Interesting you say that. This spring we had our first-ever bout with mites (first in 7 years). I was getting bitten on my arms, legs and chest and couldn't figure out what was going on. I thought it was scabies or something similar. Finally found that there was...

Haha.... South Bend is near the Michigan state line. I live less than a mile south of the state line. It's where Notre Dame is.
