I have an eight week old Plymouth Rock rooster and also a Buff Orpington rooster (same age) that need good homes. I live on Lake Norman in Mooresville so please let me know if you would like one or both of these birds (FREE of course). They are part of a group of sixteen that I inherited from...

Anyone know of a dealer in NC not too far from Charlotte that carries organic layer pellets? I have been feeding Countryside Organics and I find a lot of it in the sand of their pen. I want to switch back to my trigger feeder but it works so much better with pellets. Thanks!

Great news! I heard one of the hens fussing this morning in the coop so I went down and placed her into one of the nest boxes. She immediately came out but then to my amazement went back in and sat. She stayed for awhile and then got up. No egg (other than the fake one). She goes back in and...

Miss Lydia I hope that you are right. It's a bit frustrating when you build a nice nest box to spec and they lay in the coop. She just laid egg number 2 in the same spot. Here But NOT here! The fake eggs aren't working. The box is about 6" off of the floor so could it be too high?

Well, we got our first egg yesterday which was very exciting; but much to our chagrin one of our girls laid it in the housing portion of the coop on the pine shavings and NOT in the nest box which we had built and prepared including wooden eggs to let them know where to lay. I'm hoping that...
