I'm not looking to gain any money, just a loving and caring home. I'm having to make a lot of hard choices. Thank you for your kind words. This has been one of the hardest things I've ever been through.

Jtbass2756 But you're not gonna eat them right? I'm looking for someone who wants pets. I do understand at some point it's possible but I'm hoping that they find a home where they are loved and with someone who's experienced. These are my first, and I love them. I do have a huge hen house and...

I think trying to find a temporary home is unlikely. My hens are amazing and very spoiled. I allow them to free range a lot and their hen house and run would go with them. I'm so worried that if I post an ad on cl someone inexperienced with get them. They are 17 months old and lay a lot of eggs...

It's been awhile since I've been on, we've been very busy. I hope everyone is good. I had a question concerning my year old BR. When she poos it drips down to her fluf and stays there. I've had to clean her bottom a few times. I have given her yogurt, vinegar in her water, monitor her food, kept...

How does everyone winterize there coops? This is my first winter and I was told I don't need to worry about it. I did naturally, I put up plastic on the outside of the coop facing the North where the wind really picks up. Did I go overboard?

So it turns out she has 3 scabs. My husband and I tried doing it exactly like the videos show, she was bleeding so bad. I never saw a kernel. I fear we did more harm than good. We looked for an hour and nothing. We wrapped her foot and have her in our bathroom overnight. We aren't going to...

Good morning! I've got a question, my barred rock has a swollen toe. I didn't notice it yesterday, but this morning it's very obvious. She isn't limping and hasn't allowed me to touch her (I will continue to try). Just from a glance it looks like her feet are lighter than usual, my first thought...

Wow, it's been sometime since I have been on BYC. Hope all is well with everyone and their chicks. I've been busy closing down my daycare and began teaching else where. I have a question, I have a 24 week old LB who has laid a few eggs. I've noticed that they're HUGE. This morning she laid another very large egg, now she seems off. Normally she's a chatter box, but nothing. She's sitting in the run with her back end way up, or she'll stand and close her eyes...
