Well, turns out my 4 eggs were duds I was really hoping for some chicks, but I'm not sure how old the breeder flock is or anything so I wasn't letting my hopes get up too high. At least I've got 62 chicken eggs in the bators right now so I'll still have some fuzzy butts
So I decided to candle last night and didn't see anything :( It is only day 8, but they look completely clear to me. Is that normal or should there be development at that point? The guy we got them from didn't know if they were fertile, so they may be duds.
Are pea eggs super sensitive to temp changes? I have my bator in a closet but every time the ac kicks in the temp drops to 98.8-99. It always comes back up and stabilizes, but will that little change hurt the babies? Also, which day should I candle on to see if they are developing?
For hatching peafowl eggs? I don't think so. From what I've read it appears that peafowl and chicken eggs hatch at the same temp and humidity, but peafowl eggs take longer. Is that correct? Also, if I posted a picture of the eggs would you be able to tell me what kind they are?
