Taking a break from hatching for just a bit, gotta figure out which of my Araucanas are laying now...
But forgot to post pics of my last hatch... had a couple losses from an unfortunate accident, but ended up with 21 Ameraucanas, 16 Lavenders and 5 Black Splits... Broody Mama took the whole...
Put a deep bowl in the sink with the warm water in it and soak it in there for a bit, then rub gently throught the fluff... it's a pain cuz you gotta stand there holding it, but I found that's the only way to help when they dry that hard... :/
Good luck, everyone... I stuck 8 of mine under my Am broody since I didn't want her sitting for 3 weeks in this heat...most of mine are close to internal pipping, air cells tilted and they're pushing on the membrane... :)
Drop them in a large bowl or your sink full of very hot water for a bit... they should cool quick so warmer would be better, you can always wave them around to cool them to proper temp... :)
I was sick, so trying to catch up, lol...
Great boss and great hatch!!!
Yeah, but mine beat yours outta the shell, lol... :P
Give mine time, they'll gang up on bama's grandchicks! ;)
That is so flockin' awesome!! You are very welcome and I am as happy as I know bama is about helping...
Sounds like my Araucana bantam pair... there were 3 and I pulled one to set on other eggs, the last 2 are raising 2 chicks and they will leave the chicks outside... luckily their coop is ground level and I just had to add a step for them... My Am has impressed the crap outta me... first timer...
Ugh, sorry you lost some... my Am waits for me to go down and pick up her chicks to put back inside the coop, lol... they couldn't get up the ramp at first, and she'd hop up and down clucking away and if I didn't start picking them up she'd stop in front of me with her neck stretched up and...
