I have one of the small ones and two Brinsea ecoglows. The Premier 1 is much better.

Do you run a light in the brooder with the plates (for light not heat)

I leave light on in the day when they are inside. If they are outside I do not--daylight is enough. The plates give them a day and night cycle--It seems to help them develop.

Well my hatch from the 21 ended with 7 of 8 shipped eggs hatching, but 1 died shortly after hatching. So 6 of 8. Not bad for shipped eggs, 5 brown split to Isabel leg horns and 1 Isabel healthy.
