The birds we received from Ideal are still doing great. They seemed to grow faster or just be bigger
then ones we bought from other places. The other birds we bought from other places did not reach this size until
about the end of 12 weeks. The only thing we did differently is that we put...
Thanks for sharing! you have some beautiful birds Eglyntine!
I have noticed with ours that they seem a little laid back. They have energy but are not hyper.
All 15 are still doing great. There are a couple that seem to like being held.

I have the black australorps, buff orpingtons, red sexlink, and gold sexlinks from Ideal. They are healthy and great layers. Id reccommend getting either red/gold sexlinks over the RIR.They look almost the same but the gold/red have much better personalities.

I have heard that about hatchery RIR more like PR too. What you mentioned about them being inbred is something I would not like. I am not going to show, but I want something that is genetically ok. I would not want something that does not lay well, or has been inbred to the point of...
Boy it is hard to pick...However, I think I have decided what new birds I want. I have a few EE's now. I really want to get some that are good winter layers and lay white or brown eggs. I think I am going to try Ideal this time. I listed below the chicken breed and reason I am thinking about...
