Sure. We got 5 pullets mixed flock point of lay. Blue Australorp has been laying constantly(13 days in a row, today no egg). 2 days ago I got a soft shell egg and today a shellless egg, presumably from the same hen but I don’t know who. Feed is layer crumbles from...a brand I cannot recall at...

My husband said that today there was an shellless egg and the girls were eating it. Are they going to associate a shellless egg to a normal egg and start eating their eggs? I really hope not

Someone laid a soft shell egg last night from the roost. Kinda made a mess. Hoping no one was eating it.

Lorpa is a blue Australorp. Similar looking in the face to yours though. Lorpa is much more round and squat. Fat little fluffy butt haha. Where did you get your chicks from? That breed doesn’t seem like a Wilco or tsc type of bird.

This is what Lorpa’s face is looking like. Large red comb and wattles.

Now I’m no expert but the combs still look a bit small and pink. My girls are really red in the face and the combs are much larger

Personally...no I have no idea why. I don’t have any roosters and this in my first flock ever. I’m guessing she will lay anyway now. Any pics of her?

When your hen is being mated with what does she do? Im curios that she is not squatting for the rooster and he is still mounting and mating. Btw...10 days in a row :woot

Also I got a squat from my light Brahma,Lou Anne, and Luci the blrw is consistently squatting

This last egg was larger than the two before it but still medium sized. There have been a few that are quite small

You know what....I actually haven’t eaten any yet! We still have some store bought eggs. we are waiting until those are gone as well as waiting until we had enough of hers to eat breakfast. We have 10 now. Probably this weekend we will eat them with some bacon.
