Lorpa is a blue Australorp. Similar looking in the face to yours though. Lorpa is much more round and squat. Fat little fluffy butt haha.

Where did you get your chicks from? That breed doesn’t seem like a Wilco or tsc type of bird.

3 mating now no eggs yet but on pullet has been mating for a week now so hoping for an egg from her! We also are trying to keep them comfy supposed to be -25 degrees f on Wed and -24 tomorrow!! Wish us luck!!!

Someone laid a soft shell egg last night from the roost. Kinda made a mess. Hoping no one was eating it.

My husband said that today there was an shellless egg and the girls were eating it.

Are they going to associate a shellless egg to a normal egg and start eating their eggs? I really hope not

Sure.

We got 5 pullets mixed flock point of lay. Blue Australorp has been laying constantly(13 days in a row, today no egg). 2 days ago I got a soft shell egg and today a shellless egg, presumably from the same hen but I don’t know who.

Feed is layer crumbles from...a brand I cannot recall at the moment with grit and o.s. Mixed right in not in separate bowl

Oh and Lorpa(blue Australorp) her eggs have been thick shelled consistently
