Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

Wow. She is beautiful. But I will tell you--I had a consistent pattern of a darker yellow spot on the head of 4 of my hatched chicks. It was yellow on yellow but visible and I saw it along with a couple of experienced poultry breeders. Now I am really curious--but definitely going for the...

Interesting-- July I hatched my crossed White Leghorn(utility) to my Legbar roo and at first glance all hatched like typical little Leghorns with a few black random specks--but very random. But then at a few days old(I did not specifically look earlier) I noticed that a certain # of the...

Oh heavens I am not offended in any way. I appreciate feedback and take all things into consideration. His personality is good. He's not a pet but he's a great roo to his hens. He's still only 9 months old and still changing. Thanks again.

Here is my Cream Legbar roo. Colonel came fro Chucks Clucks in Alabama. Hatched Jan. 1. Have had excellent hatch rates from his hens. So what day a think? I'll have to weight him. But he won't be a year old for another 3 months! Nice white earlobes.

You know I would really learn a lot from 3 comparative photo journals. 1 each showing for the pulled and roo of Silver--Cream--Gold. I think my struggle mostly is between the cream and silver. The ideal SOP image I think is totally a different bird than a Cream Leg bar IMHO.

Well most notable is nothing to do with crest but rather color--incredibly silver for the roo and appears to be minimal salmon on the hens. Original CL group with GFF did not all have crests--I cull the hens with no crests and would think most breed toward the full crest. But--beautiful birds...

Here are some photos of the Jan1 hatch of Crested Cream Legbars that I got from Chuck's Clucks in Alabama. Wide variety of coloring--but I think I have some good ones-- 1 of the roos has a pretty wild crest and a wavy comb. 2 roos with totally different colors

My Legbar hens started laying in September 2013 and produce eggs under 2 oz. Very consistently. What a bummer. Smallest of multiple breeds.

Hi all--Can I get some basic feedback on my CCL Roo ? Here are a few pics--and I have some 5 week old chicks to post later as well. THANKS My Avatar photo is the same roo. And BTW--he is healing from some minor frostbite on the tips of his comb. Hurts me to put salve on them--but...
