Here it is, folks! When I cracked it, it kind of shot out of the egg just like that. Super runny. Everything was pretty much pure liquid except that chunk that's shown in the shell. It was like a big chunk of tough meat.🤢
When I first found it, it was completely clear. It lit up like a Christmas bulb. Gradually over the past few days it has changed to look like this, which was why I thought maybe something tried to develop for a hot minute.
I'll definitely take pics!
I was hoping! But this one doesn't look like it's developing properly otherwise, I think? There are spots against the inside of the egg but no bright red veins.
I tend to have a morbid curiosity about these kind of things, so I might open it up and see what it looks like inside tomorrow. This is a blood ring, right? Or something else that means it never even tried?
If anyone could give me tips on how to eliminate the camera glare, I could probably get some better pics. Everything is the wrong color when I snap a photo! Too bright, too fuzzy, and none of the fine details that I am seeing. It's frustrating.
The air cell is there. It's completely detached and floats all over the place. It's hard to see in the pictures, but it's at the top of the egg in all of them.
I am a little worried about the detatched air cell though. If there is anything possibly growing in there, I am hoping it can find the air when it's time to hatch. 😩
Maybe it's just me clinging to the idea that it's still alive, but like I said, I'm not quite ready to give up on it yet. Here is what it looks like today. I wish my pictures didn't turn out so dang fuzzy.
Ah darn! Oh well, I think I'll give it another few days before I completely give up on it. Here are some more images in the meantime. I've Had another person say incomplete blood ring as well.
I am not sure what kind of egg this is. I am thinking pigeon based on the look of it. It's bigger than a dove egg, rounded, and white. We have a LOT of pigeons in this area. I found it lying in the grass outside under an open sky, no trees around at all.
I brought it inside and candled it, and...
