    LOCKDOWN??????????

I'd go with your friend and leave them till Tuesday. I don't see anything that you did that could cause them all to go but, I'm brand new to this too. Hens get up off the eggs every so often too so they can eat, poop, stretch so unless you were candling every hour I don't see how lower temps...

    LOCKDOWN??????????

what are your temp and humidity? Have your eggs been turned often enough? What day are you on? Smell-I was keeping an eye on mine and smelling each egg that I thought was a goner, If I didn't smell anything I left them in there. No exploded eggs. I wonder if anyone has candled a rotten egg to...

    LOCKDOWN??????????

I keep mine in an upstairs spare room, I have to go up the stairs and open the door to look at them, LOL. It helps a little bit. Just remember that it can take them 24 hours or more after they pip to actually hatch, this is my second hatch and on my first one I tried to assist and it just...

    LOCKDOWN??????????

Hey, I'm on day 18 also! I didn't weigh my eggs but all 5 are rocking here and there. I try to keep my humidity between 65-70, you don't want it lower than 55% for sure. I'm thinking you could either add towels or just add a little water at a time to the other trough until your humidity is at a...

    LOCKDOWN??????????

A friend of mine grew up on a farm, they kept their eggs in a wooden box with a light bulb and misted the eggs twice a day. Their eggs hatched fine. I believe you are good to go too! Yay pips!!!

    LOCKDOWN??????????

Hhmm, not sure but should be ok.. Do you have a hydrometer so you can see what the humidity is? They are inexpensive and give you some peace of mind too. The washcloth was a good idea, especially if your troughs dry out so fast.

    LOCKDOWN??????????

Try not to open the lid at all after they start to pip if you can help it. It's more important after they pip than any other time until they hatch. From what I understand, after chicks start to hatch, their own moisture adds to the humidity inside so that should help.

    LOCKDOWN??????????

Your incubator doesn't have a way to add water without opening it? I have a home made incubator but if I have to add water after lockdown I just use a syringe to add water through one of the holes I've poked in it. Not as quick as opening the lid and pouring it in but it keeps my humidity steady.
