Happy Halloween everyone!
Here are the 9 babies that hatched on Friday (day 20) I tried to get some cute photos but was a little difficult as one chickie decided to poop on the scarf and my 7 year old daughter proceeded to have a meltdown (it’s her scarf 🥲) all is good and it’s in the washing...
All 9 of my seramas I put into lockdown hatched yesterday. The first was at 8 am and the last was about 9 pm. All looking good this morning. I will post some pics later with the final stats 👻
Omg… you guys! I have 1 Serama pippin at 19 days 🙀 I’ve heard mixed responses for hatch days for Serama eggs, between 19 and 21. Hoping the others hold on until my day off 🥲
Thank you so much! I’ve never done a hatch a long before and I’ve really enjoyed being a part of it. It’s nice to have the support and share all the emotions that go with this whole process ❤️
I have already contacted the manufacturer and will be seeking a refund over a replacement. Also i have had a small space heater in the bathroom cause I had the same thought…so I moved the govee to a stationary spot in the incubator and it has been holding a steady temp. I guess it wasn’t a good...
It has been fluctuating yes. Kebonnix in the same room and steady. My husband thinks it could be due to the laptop cord as it has a slightly higher voltage so maybe it’s turning the fan faster, but if it’s adjusted up 0.5-1 degrees it gets too hot. The last few days it’s been at 98.5 at the...
I know the brief temp drop wouldnt affect my hatch, but 60 hrs?! Wow thats crazy and good to know! I was disappointed that an incubator that a lot of people rave about (for price point) already had issues after only 3 days. What do you think about extreme and frequent fluctuations in temp +/- 2...
Yes just out of nowhere ☹️ I checked on it a few hours prior and it was fine. It’s left in one spot in our bedroom never moved. I have a govee hydrometer and thermometer I can monitor from my phone and it appeared to have quit about an hour before my husband discovered it at 9:30 pm so thank...
Last night my new Nurture Right 360 tried to kill my hatch. Luckily my husband caught it. I can track the temp with my Govee, figure it had only been off for an hour. 16 were in the NR360 and 12 were in the small Kebonnix (different set date) had to shove all 28 eggs into my Keobonix in a panic...
Peafowl are difficult to hatch in an incubator. A lot of people use a broody chicken with better results. You might be able to find a local breeder when in season. I did not have luck with shipped peafowl eggs in an incubator. Even with temp and humidity on point. A very expensive lesson but I...
Set the eggs a day early. There are shipped Serama, they have been resting for about 36 hours. I’ll be laying them on their side in a couple days, wanted to keep upright in case of any detached air cells.
