Broody hen. What can I do?

I’m glad to hear she was kept well, but I’m still not going to do that. Thank you.

Broody hen. What can I do?

Thank you for the response. I have already stated that I have taken the eggs and she is back to normal.

Broody hen. What can I do?

I’m not changing my mind. I feel bad for that chicken. You’re welcome to stop posting.

Broody hen. What can I do?

I’m going to repeat myself. I am not going to put my animal in a cage for three days. You can do what you want, but I’m not going to put my animal through that. I removed her eggs and it worked in less time than your methods. I care about my animals and will never do that. Also I don’t care...

Broody hen. What can I do?

I’m not going to put my animal in an elevated cage. I’m not going to do that. I’m going to disagree with you and say that it probably causes stress.

Broody hen. What can I do?

It has been mentioned. I chose not to do this as I had mentioned I want to cause the animal the least amount of stress as possible. I removed the eggs and it worked. Thank you.

Broody hen. What can I do?

That’s why I didn’t respond. I simply removed her eggs and comforted her. She’s back to her happy self now.

Broody hen. What can I do?

I’ve taken the eggs and held her until her legs were no longer stiff from sitting all day. She’s back to her normal self and is scouting for bugs with the rest of the flock. (Thank you, I named her after Carlisle Cullen because of her paleness and docile personality)

Broody hen. What can I do?

I gathered the eggs then held her and waited until her legs weren’t so stiff from sitting. She shook out her feathers, took a broody poo, and went on. She’s a very sweet girl (which is part of why I felt bad for her) so she isn’t very moody. She’s now grazing with her flock. Thanks you.

Broody hen. What can I do?

I will start collecting the eggs more often, but I have a set plan to hatch some in spring so I’ll have plenty of time to socialize them and keep watch. Thank you😁

Broody hen. What can I do?

Ok, but I’d like to know the best way of doing and causing her the least amount of stress. Should I simply remove her eggs, or is there a better way of breaking the broody.

Broody hen. What can I do?

Thank you for the reply. While I do know that they would be fine in cold, it’s just not ideal. I have a plan to hatch some this spring when I have lots of free time to keep watch for them.

Broody hen. What can I do?

Thank you very much! So would simply removing her eggs be the best bet? Or is there a better way? Because I’d hate for her to be upset about them being gone. That may sound a bit crazy, but I just want her to be happy.

Broody hen. What can I do?

But as I mentioned in the post, the cold winter weather would be rough on young chickens. Thank you for the reply.

Broody hen. What can I do?

In the image are two of my four Silkie hens. From what I have seen, my chickens are not that broody. Today these two were, the brown one abandoned her eggs a couple of hours ago and the white one took the eggs “under her wing”. Carlisle, the white one, is still broody. She has been all day. She...
